Corsham development PFI project
Interserve is supporting the delivery of modern communications for our Armed Forces as they deploy around the world on operations such as peacekeeping, sea lane protection, intelligence gathering, counter narcotics and humanitarian aid operations.
In a consortium with John Laing, this £194 million, 25-year PFI deal has seen the significant redevelopment of MoD's Basil Hill communications hub, with military and civilian personnel re-locating to a single site.
Cutting-edge, operational and technical support facilities have been constructed, along with new office accommodation for approximately 2,000 staff and 180 single room en-suite bed spaces for service personnel.
Over the next 25 years, Interserve is providing all site support services, initially across three locations and then at the new facility at Basil Hill once complete. Services include estate management and maintenance, medical and dental support, catering and hospitality, business training and administration, accommodation services, portering and mail and graphics and printing.
Interserve also manages the underground tunnels at Corsham, which provide an important link to our Cold War history. We are supporting the MoD's work with English Heritage to ensure this important part of our country's heritage is preserved.
