Parliament House refurbishment, Edinburgh
The works comprise the design, development, construction and fit-out of the existing, Category A listed, Scotland’s Court of Session building, which dates back to 1630 and was the home of the Scottish Parliament until 1707.
The proposed redevelopment concerns four main zones within the existing complex and is phased over a five-year period. Work involves the extensive alterations and modernisation of the buildings in a sympathetic manner to the existing installations and surroundings with two new build circulation elements connecting externally. There is a requirement for purpose made joinery to match exactly a variety of existing historic profiles. The value of the first phase is £12.3 million.
