Graduates and trainee opportunities
There are a variety of graduate, traineeships and industrial or vacation placement opportunities in the civil engineering, construction management and quantity surveying disciplines.
To apply for our graduate, placement or day release trainee opportunities please see our current job vacancies. Our application process works on a first come, first served basis.
Whatever route you choose to take Interserve will support you to achieve chartered status of the relevant professional institution. Technical routes can lead to operational roles such as Site Engineer and eventually Project Manager, while the commercial route will see you contributing to the financial success of projects through estimating, financial control and supply-chain management. You will liaise closely with clients, negotiating and influencing decisions.
The main period for receipt of applications is October to the end of January and you are advised to apply during this period. Applications should be made with a covering note clearly stating your discipline, the type of opportunity you are seeking (graduate, year-out, summer vacation or day-release traineeship) and the locations in which you prefer to work.
Graduates
We recruit around 30 graduates each year and are looking for people who have achieved a 2:2 or above in one of the above disciplines. Along with your relevant degree we are ideally looking for graduates who have some relevant industry or site experience, who are practical, creative and who can work in a multi-functional team environment.
Undergraduate sponsorship
Undergraduates studying a construction related degree have the opportunity to apply for sponsorship following a summer or industrial placement with us. Sponsorship not only provides financial assistance of up to £3,000 per annum but also professional support and guidance from qualified staff working in the construction industry.
Once sponsored, students can rely on opportunities for vacation and industrial placements and are likely to be offered a graduate position.
To apply or find out more about our undergraduate sponsorships please contact us via our job vacancies.
Traineeships - earn while you learn
Interserve offers school or college leavers the opportunity to learn their profession from scratch whilst working four days a week and continuing their study through day release. You will have the chance to study relevant qualifications whilst gaining practical experience and the cost of your course will be funded by Interserve. We recruit about 20 day release trainees each year and have vacancies across a number of our regions.
Industrial and vacation placements
We offer summer and industrial placements to undergraduates who are studying any of our key disciplines and, as these are based regionally throughout England, Scotland and South Wales, there is a good chance we will be able to offer a placement within your chosen region.
