Interserve wins £4m Lincolnshire Hospitals contract
Interserve, the services, maintenance and building group, has been awarded a £4 million contract by the United Lincolnshire Hospital NHS Trust to refurbish and develop two units at the Lincoln County Hospital.
The schemes are designed to improve the patient experience, to improve standards of care and to improve the working environment for staff. In particular:
- The Endoscopy Department will be moved and extended to improve privacy and dignity for patients, to provide dedicated counselling rooms and improve decontamination services.
- The Emergency Assessment Unity (EAU) will be expanded to provide easier access, quicker turnaround and assessment time for patients.
Further projects will also be planned for both Lincoln County Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital over the next two years, including work on developing paediatric, stroke and care of the elderly wards at Lincoln County Hospital and developing maternity services, the Intensive Care Unit and endoscopy at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.
Adrian Ringrose, Chief Executive of Interserve said: “As the ProCure21 provider to the United Lincolnshire Hospital NHS Trust, we are working closely with it to design and build modern facilities to meet the needs of the Trust and its patients. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
Director of Operations and Deputy CEO at ULHT, Dawne Bloodworth, added: “It is brilliant news that these projects can now go ahead. Our staff have worked very closely together and with us to come up with the ideas and solutions for these projects to ensure that the facilities are fit-for-purpose.”
